Our workshops have been developed to provide a quiet day of creativity and gentle tuition and we hope the feeling of going home with a desire to learn more.

Emily is a visual artist specializing in the captivating cyanotype process, transforming sunlight and chemistry into striking cyan blue artworks. She discovered the historic form of photography while studying Fine Art at Loughborough University and continues to create cyanotypes from her home studio in Nottingham. Emily's technique involves layering pressed flowers and leaves with other elements, such as stencils, text, and photo negatives, to create beautiful, textured cyanotype prints.

Step away from the stresses of life and immerse yourself in shades of blue, while arranging pressed flowers, photo negatives and hand-written text to make your very own ‘blueprints’. During this half day workshop, you’ll be taken through the process of making a cyanotype print step by step, with demonstration and examples.  You’ll then be provided with multiple pieces of pre-coated cyanotype paper to experiment with and lots of plants and other items to make your unique blue and white designs. Once you have mastered the basics, you’ll have the opportunity to coat paper with the light-sensitive solution yourself, in order to make your final prints.
