Lisa is a nature inspired artist specialising in hand painted glassware as well as scratchboard artwork. She is a member of the Nottingham Society of Artists, International Society of Scratchboard Artists and the Association of Animal Artists and loves to show others how they can achieve great results when creating their own artwork.

This half day course aims to give a taster of the basic processes of glass painting including creating a design and guiding you through the processes used to create your own masterpiece. Participants of all abilities are welcome and no previous experience is required.

A selection of glass and painting materials will be provided for you to use but if you have a glass or ceramic piece at home you would like to add a design to please bring it along with you.

For the first part of the workshop Lisa will explain the type of paints she uses for her glass painting – they are a thicker type of acrylic so very different to some of the more see through types. Lisa will demonstrate various florals and techniques before helping you create your own designs.

Time will then be given for you to paint up to two items which you be able to take home with you. Choose from...

  • x1 Vase
  • x1 Wine Glass / Tumbler or Tealight

You will begin by creating a design on paper and also practising brush strokes and techniques. Lisa uses a version of the "one stroke" technique for some of her florals and she will help you put this into practice before applying to glass.

Once the designs have been completed and you are happy with your creations, instructions will be provided on how to bake your glass at home in order to seal the paint.

At the end of the class, you will take home your beautiful glassware to use yourself or give as handmade gifts.

Our workshops have been developed to provide a quiet day of creativity and gentle tuition and we hope the feeling of going home with a desire to learn more.

The course focus is always on fun and friendly creativity with lots of personal tuition from an experienced glass artist.

FOOD: Hot and cold refreshments will be provided throughout the day or alternatively the shop is situated next to the wonderful Mulberry Tree Cafe where you can purchase delicious food at reasonable prices.

The course cost includes materials, use of tools and refreshments throughout the workshop and class size is limited to 8 students so if you wish to book onto this class please use the appropriate button at the top of the page
