With a deep passion for sustainability and a keen eye for beauty, Jayne Kirkman breathes new life into discarded materials, showcasing the extraordinary potential hidden within them. Each sculpture created by Jayne tells a story, fusing nature-inspired designs with the raw industrial essence of aerated concrete.

During this unique and inspiring half day workshop, where creativity meets sustainability, you will discover the joy of carving waste aerated concrete and learn to craft your very own eco-friendly bee and bug house, dedicated to nurturing the precious invertebrates in your garden.

Each participant will be given a waste, lightweight aerated concrete building block, destined for landfill and during the class Jayne will demonstrate various carving techniques and will guide you step-by-step, ensuring you grasp the process before you start to create your own beautiful and functional bee/bug house.

No carving experience or previous knowledge of aerated concrete is required - our workshop is designed for everyone! Jayne will also bring along a range of project examples to inspire and showcase the creative possibilities of carving eco-friendly bee and bug houses.

At the end of the session, you'll proudly take home your meticulously carved creation to install in your garden. Witness the impact of your craft as it becomes a welcoming haven for beneficial insects, supporting the local ecosystem
