Debbie is a Level 3 certified Powertex tutor, who will introduce you to the delights of Powertex.

Powertex is a water based, environmentally friendly textile hardener and universal medium used for creating sculptures, decorative objects and mixed media art. It is versatile and can also be used as a paint or glue or mixed with Stone Art or 3D flex used to create clay or texture for your project.

In this workshop Debbie will take you step by step through all  the processes to create your own fairy or angel figure.

Tuition, guidance and advice will be provided as you go through each stage of the process during this workshop. You will start with a wooden stand and plaster head to create the base and shape of your figure, adding wing shapes (optional). Then, after lunch,  the fabric sculpting fun begins!!

 Create texture, ripples and layers using fabrics and treat with Powertex solution. After a short time your figure will be is touch dry and you will then add colour and highlights using a dry brushing technique, this is when your piece becomes individual and beautiful. 

 After 3 weeks the Powertex will be fully cured so your figure will be weatherproof should you wish to display it in the garden.

Each participant starts with the same products but you’re guaranteed to each create something unique, no two pieces are the same and you choose the colours

FOOD: Hot and cold refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Alternatively, the shop is situated next to the wonderful Mulberry Tree Cafe where you can purchase delicious drinks and food at reasonable prices.
