Pottery Painting is a growing trend today, with adults of all ages enjoying the opportunity to paint on bisque to create their own individual masterpiece.


This half day course offers you all the equipment and expertise you need to take your piece to the next level. You will learn paper masking, glaze layering and bubble painting techniques in this fun workshop, to make a beautiful winter themed candle/ sandwich tray.


Your tutor has a wealth of experience and has been teaching ceramic decoration for over 20 years


This relaxed, fun workshop is perfect for any beginners with no prior experience of pottery decoration but is equally suitable for pottery painters who want to learn some new techniques.


We will start the session by learning how to layer glazes successfully and the difference between glazes and underglazes. We will use fun paper masking techniques to create texture on our design. Using pure underglaze, we will add the final layer of rich texture by adding bubbles to the design and finish with a glossy layer of colour on the border of the piece.


At the end of the class your designed pieces will be taken away, fired and returned to the shop ready for collection 7 days later

         

No painting skills are required to complete this piece, but you should be able to use a paintbrush and scissors.

FOOD: Hot and cold refreshments will be provided during the morning. Alternatively, the shop is situated next to the wonderful Mulberry Tree Cafe where you can purchase delicious drinks and food at reasonable prices, or why not book a table there for lunch?
