Have you ever wanted to try your hand at silver-smithing? Well, now’s your chance!
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and is the perfect introduction to making silver jewellery.
In this workshop you will learn how to make silver earrings using traditional silver-smithing techniques. There is a choice of studs, dangly or classic hoop earrings.
On this half day workshop, you will create a pair of silver earrings of your choice.
We will start by looking at the materials and tools we’ll be using, followed by a demonstration of all the techniques required to create your own earrings. These techniques include: measuring, sawing, filing, soldering, shaping, annealing, forging, texturing, soldering and polishing.

FOOD:
Hot and cold refreshments will be provided throughout the class. Alternatively Created by Hand is situated next to the wonderful Mulberry Tree Café where you can purchase delicious food at reasonable prices.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Please wear closed toe shoes.
- Long hair needs to be tied back.
- Bring glasses if needed for close up work.
- An apron to protect your clothes will be supplied on the day
The course costs covers material costs to make one pair of earrings, the use of tools and refreshments throughout the class
