In what might just turn out to be an addictive new craft—this course will cover the basics of cold process soap-making for the beginner.
Starting with a presentation of the basic equipment needed (most of which may already be found in the kitchen) and how to safely handle caustic substances, we introduce the basic ingredients and techniques needed to make our first batch of soap. Much like making a cake, we find out how easy and fun it is to make soap, and how perfect homemade soap is for gifting to family and friends.
At the end of the course, we will be able to take home our first batch to complete the “curing process” (which should be firm enough to unmold after 24-36 hours).
