Melbourne Soap Company

After suffering with eczema for over 40 years Suzanne, the creator of Melbourne Soap decided to make her own soaps to help with her skin, using the traditional cold process method and she's not used a store bought soap since!!

Melbourne Soap Co set up in June 2018 to specialise in handmade natural soaps, shampoos and balms with essential oils, herbs and natural colours, to give the smell, texture and special qualities to look after you skin. Soaps take 6 weeks to cure, ensuring the PH level is exactly right to maximise the kindness to your skin.

In 2019 they created their natural pet range and moved into a workshop at Melbourne Hall Courtyard in 2021.

All their soaps are suitable for vegetarians and most are suitable for vegans. They are Palm Oil free, Paraben Free, Not tested on animals, and biodegradable.

Yorkshire Candle Company

YCC began developing candles and other home scented products in October 2014, the goal was to create a product which was produced locally, by hand where possible, to use responsibly sourced materials and to take inspiration from the Yorkshire landscape.

They now produce an award winning fragrance range which is produced entirely in house by their expert team in Yorkshire and is sold around the world.

There are over 130 products in the stock range, including 'make your own' kits and they are always developing their facilities and range as well as working to build relationships with discerning businesses and customers.

It's been an incredible journey so far and we are proud to be part of The Yorkshire Candle Company's journey into future.

Bad Dog Designs

Since childhood, Paul Barry of Bad Dog Designs has been the sort of person who will take things apart to see how they work, and then put them back together again (sometimes even in the right order). Fascinated with electronics, in stead of being bought toys, Paul’s father would take him to the local scrap yard and they would come home with a car full of old radios and televisions and goodness knows what else, all of which Paul would subsequently dismantle and fiddle with.

Towards the end of 2014, Paul stumbled across a Nixie clock online. Remembering Nixie tubes from some of the equipment he used to dismantle as a boy, he looked around the internet and discovered quite a few Nixie tube-based clocks and thought “I can do that," so he decided to have a go.

It quickly dawned on Paul that people liked his slightly different Nixie tube clock creations and as each one sold, it allowed him to purchase more tubes and bits of equipment to convert into clocks. Paul won a Merit Award in the International Arts & Crafts Design Award, 2016.
